 Look Closely. Feminist Editathon By Women Creators is a workshop to address the substantial gender gap that exists on the platform in Spanish, both in terms of publishing and the nature of its content, as it looks to contribute to the creation of new entries by women creators. 

This congress analyses the different levels and dynamics of confrontation employed by forms of militarised communication on their path to permeating social life and manipulating the collective experience of the present.

This new edition of Documents recovers the work of female cartoonists such as Montse Clavé, Ana Miralles, Núria Pompeia and Mariel Soria, and serves as a prelude to a document-based show on the same theme, to be held in the Museo’s Library and Documentation Centre in 2023. 

Since December 2022, via the programme Perturbable School II, seminars on political violence and institutions, the work of Margarita Azurdia, and other situated voices, this Temporary Intensity Zone raises questions around the illness and healing of the institutions that shape us and the bodies with which we traverse and make them.

Participants will work together to create and produce a novel written collectively — customarily an individual endeavour — addressing not only the writing process but also other tasks such as editing, correcting and disseminating a text. By the same token, and in the form of a coda, the workshop will explore the performative nature of the collective novel with a public presentation in different spaces inside the Museo.

Dance, movement, transit, collision, self-perception and the eroticism of dancing are actions with the capacity to shake the system of power and, therefore, make up cuir actions. In Moving Cuirness, dynamics are put forward which are based on experiential anatomy through movement, sensorial exploration from being (in)touch, and rhythm; dynamics that work as triggers to generate, from the intimacy of present uniqueness, a collective dance where pleasure and freedom of movement take centre stage.

The activity is made up of a morning workshop — split into three groups with different access — which aims to raise awareness, through four stations based on the principles of four-colour printing, of the array of possibilities within the artist’s book, from its poetic beginnings with Mallarmé and Apollinaire to its more contemporary expressions.

Museo Situado organiza, con la colaboración de los departamentos de Conservación-Restauración y Registro de Obras de Arte del Museo Reina Sofía, la primera edición del Curso de manipulación, embalaje, transporte y montaje de bienes culturales. El objetivo es aproximar a personas con trayectorias de vida migrante del barrio de Lavapiés, Madrid, los trabajos relacionados con la manipulación de obras de arte y el montaje de exposiciones.

This TIZ reflects on ghostly relationships, the relationships of events with history, of citizens with politics, of inhabitants with the home or of the missing with those still waiting for them. In the month of the dead, we think about mourning and lamenting, memory and forgetting, and forms of presence and disappearance from the unique spectrality which the same idea of a museum imposes upon us.

French-Argentinian artist Alejandra Riera conducts, alongside artists Caroline Déodat, Andreas-Maria Fohr and Antonio Menchen, a workshop in different spaces of the Museo, setting out from notions which form the backbone of her and the participating artists’ work: communal art-making, the fragility of materials and themes and film as an open process.

Slumil K’ajxemk’op — which means “rebel land” in Tzotzil, a Mayan dialect — is how the Zapatista delegation renamed Europe during its visit to the continent in 2021. A gift for being aware of and recognising ourselves as part of another Europe “abducted” from itself, and which invites us to reinvent our ties to the past in an emancipatory mode of expression, to the point of returning our otherness to us: the non-suppressed condition.

This seventh edition of Graphic Outbreak witnesses Delight Lab, in collaboration with Vórtice Creativo CIMA, seeking to create a space of reflection to collectively build slogans that can be projected in public space using the video mapping technique and which help to stress social problems such as health exclusion in the Spanish State. Following the passing of Royal Decree-Law 16/2012, of 20 April, access to the National Health System (SNS) in Spain is linked to people’s administrative situation, making it increasingly less accessible and universal. Above all, this situation afflicts undocumented migrant people, who experience long waits and unpayable bills, putting their life at risk.

Graphic Outbreak 6. O Corpo como Poética da Luta is a workshop organised by Coletivo Alvorada and shines a light on the body, flash mobs and textiles as strategies to burst into public space.

On this occasion, work is carried out specifically with the campaign #ESenciales* #RegularizacionYa (#ESsential* #RegularisationNow), which fights to obtain the extraordinary regularisation of 500,000 people in an irregular administrative situation and who cannot exercise their rights in the Spanish State.
