Francesco Lo Savio
This catalogue is devoted to the exhibition centred on the work of Francesco Lo Savio, a precursor to the poetics of Minimalism and, on account of his early death, relatively unknown in Spain, despite being lauded by artists such as Richard Serra over a number of years. The catalogue begins with the section De / sobre Lo Savio (By/About Lo Savio), encompassing his written theories, translated into Spanish for the first time, and includes three essays: one programmatic, by curator Daniel Soutif, another in relation to the aesthetics of the end of art, and a third which explores the “auratic” value of his work. The publication concludes with an album of views of the show Soutif took from the Sabatini Building and a documentary appendix.
