Miquel Barceló

This catalogue presents two decades of the career of Miquel Barceló, surveying his extensive work on paper in an eponymous exhibition. The volume includes Enrique Juncosa’s essay ‘Los ciclos terrestres’ (Terrestrial Cycles), an analysis of the motifs and technical developments in Barceló’s work which casts light on aspects such as Mediterranean artistic tradition, matter and time, and the encounter with Africa. Moreover, as an introduction to each series of illustrations, unpublished fragments from the notebooks the artist has been working on since 1979 are reproduced.
