Silo. Archivo F.X.

Pedro G. Romero’s work delves deep into the power of images while also analysing the iconoclastic phenomenon. In Silo he presents a series of different-format pieces which reflect political, anti-sacramental iconoclasm in Spain between 1845 and 1945. The catalogue is part of Archivo F.X., a collective project directed by the artist since 1999, comprising a vast photographic and film archive on the destructive phenomenon of sacred images compared with thesauruses related to the nomenclature of avant-garde art. Along with a list of these thesauri, accompanied by image and text, the catalogue also features a text by Esteban Pujals on the project’s development.
