Thomas Schütte

Hindsight

Thomas Schütte’s work is presented in a great retrospective of three decades of his career. The catalogue analyses the strategies used to debunk many of the traditional axioms of sculptures, analysing his early work, as well as his relationship with artists such as Daniel Buren or Blinky Palermo, and also Schütte’s oblique references in the artistic tradition. It includes a selection of writings by Schütte, alternated with photographs of his oeuvre, and an extract of the Bartleby & Co. novel by Enrique Vila-Matas.
